“S.” is a 2013 novel co-created by Doug Dorst and J. J. Abrams. The format is unconventional, presenting a story within a story. Jeffrey Jacob Abrams, an American filmmaker, is renowned for works spanning action, drama, and science fiction, including “Regarding Henry,” “Cloverfield,” “Star Trek,” and the Star Wars sequels. Doug Dorst, an American novelist and creative writing instructor, holds degrees from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and Stanford University’s Stegner Fellowship. Currently directing the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Texas State University, he brings a wealth of literary expertise to his role.
