F. Scott Fitzgerald

Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald was born on September 24, 1896, and died on December 21, 1940. He was a prominent American novelist, essayist, and short story writer. His enduring legacy lies in the portrayal of the exuberance and extravagance of the Jazz Age, a term he introduced through his short story compilation, Tales of the Jazz Age. Over his lifetime, Fitzgerald crafted a substantial body of work, including four novels, four collections of short stories, and an impressive 164 individual short stories. Despite achieving momentary popularity and financial success in the 1920s, Fitzgerald’s true recognition as one of the foremost American writers of the 20th century emerged posthumously.
